  • Trouiblesome CA overseas ballots It was clearly labeled "Sample Ballot" but instructed the recipient to vote either it, or the included printed ballot, if one was included in this "Early Voting" packet; the instructions also allowed that many of the "Early Voting" packets did not usually have the printed ballot.

There, in fact, was no printed ballot included.

There was a diagram that showed how to mark both kinds (printed and sample) of ballots, and to confirm that the ballot number, in the lower right=hand corner of the ballot, matched the number on the enclosed envelope.

The one I saw was off by a digit sequence.

Since we had time before the CA deadline, I advised her not to vote this, despite the instructions, and had her reregister. She now has a write-in ballot to use, and is confident that at least her vote will be registered this election.

But what about the others who may be receiving this same ballot?

Has anyone seen anything like this from their LA,CA members? Could these overseas voters be the target of some malevolence?

One other thing that was a bit odd, was that the words "General" in the "General Election" in the second line, was mispelled.

I am not an alarmist, but we certainly can't afford anything to compromise the overseas CA vote.
