Wisconsin "one-pager"



This is a draft for "one-page" information that can be posted in community hubs like libraries, grocery stores, community technology centers -- and that voters can print out with them to take to polls. Actually, it'll probably be two pages -- one for general information, and another for a citizen journalism project such as Twitter Vote Report. We're continuing to work on the design and formatting; please add comments in the threads below ...


Because this is a template for other pages, state-specific information is indicated in RED so local updaters can easily find what needs to change; nationwide information, which won't need to be changed for each state, will be in black.

Call the voter hotline
There are 10,000 trained attorneys standing by to help with any electoral problems on or before election day. If you have problems at your polling place and need to talk to someone, call one of these voter hotlines:
  • 1-866-OUR-VOTE (English)
  • 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA (Spanish)
  • 1-877-523-2792 - ACLU's Voting Rights hotline

Text or tweet a hotline
You can also report any problems via text messaging in one of these ways.
  • Use your cell phone to send a text message to 66937. Make sure to start your message with “#votereport
  • If you have a Twitter account, tweet your report, starting your message with #votereport” (before you go to the polls, go to http://twitter.com/votereport and click "Follow" so Votereport can be on the lookout for your tweet)
  • Key in a report by calling (567) 258-VOTE or (567) 258-8683

By using a standard code when you report, we can quickly track common problems over vast areas.
