What is the Right Wine Humidity to Store Your Wine? Wine humidity is an important factor in the storage of wines, but this doesnt affect the wine so much as it does the cork of the bottle. With a relative steady wine humidity, the cork wont shrink. If it does happen then theres a chance that the cork can get damaged and oxygen can creep into the wine. And thats when everything starts going to pot and your wines become su breathslim bject to the process known as oxidation. You should ideally look to keeping your wines in a relative wine humidity level of between 50-80%, although 70% wine humidity is what you should be aiming for. Anything in excess of 80% wine humidity will cause labels and cardboard boxes to eventually succumb to rot. Your wines wont be affected by this factor however. And low wine humidity levels can cause the cork to shrink.
